Ancient 'Gandharva Vivah' Exists in Himachal Pradesh as Elopement Marriages
People in Himachal Pradesh are known for keeping alive many traditions that find mention in ancient scriptures. “Gandharva Vivah”, mentioned in epic Mahabharata, exists here in the form of an elopement marriage.
The custom has it that the young couples eager to perform “Gandharva Vivah” are expected to elope and, later, settle for a proper marriage as per traditional rituals.
"It has been going on since the times of the 'Pandavas' (victorious clan in the legendary Mahabharata war). We bring the girls here after running off with them and marry them. This is our tradition and everyone celebrates it with great zeal and enthusiasm," said Arun Kumar, a resident.
The basic condition according to this marriage form is mutual love and consent by both—bridegroom-to-be and the bride-to-be. Ram Kumar is one such youngster who recently eloped with his girl friend and opted for “Gandharva Vivah”.
"We felt that we have been made for each other. And, we decided to run away from our homes. Today is our wedding day and it will take place in front of our local deity. We also have to seek the acceptance of our family members and in-laws," said Ram Kumar.
Bride's family and relatives are invited by the bridegroom's family for a traditional function prior to the wedding. It is then followed by a series of ceremonies.
Dynasty. She is the mother of Emperor Bharata as per Hindu mythology.
King Dushyanta first encountered Shakuntala while traveling through the forest with his army. Pursuing a male deer wounded by his arrow into the ashram (hermitage), he saw Shakuntala nursing the deer, her pet, and fell in love with her.
He profusely begged her forgiveness for harming the deer and spent some time at the ashram. They fell in love and Dushyanta married Shakuntala there in the ashram.
Marriages of Dushyant and Shakuntala; Daksheya and Prajapati, Bhima with Hidimba; Kamdeva and Rati, Kach and Devyani are considered typical Gandharva marriages.
8According to the ancient vedic culture there are mainly five legitimate types of wedding : Brahma, Daiva, Arsha, Pragaptya, & Gandharva. Gandharva Vivaha was recognized by the Kshatriyas and Vaishyas where as in a Brahmin Community it wasn’t accepted. When a Chap and a Maiden decide to unite in a sacred long term committed relationship, without the consent of Parents or Guardians, then such a wedding is called as “Gandharva Vivaha”.
In general terms its referred to as “Love Marriage” which may or may not follow the Wedding Commandments.Raam Brahm Paramartha Rupa

The festival of NAVARATHRI, dedicated to Devi, the Divine Mother, also called as "DASSHERA" is celebrated all over India, and all over the World, with joy and enthusiasm, for nine days - the first three days, worshipping Goddess Durga, the second three days on Sri Lakshmi and the last three days on Sri Saraswathi and hence known as Navarathri.
The story of the creation of this Goddess DURGA is very interesting. The gods in heaven decided to create an all-pervasive being to kill the demon king Mahishasura who was on a killing-spree of devas. A stream of lightning dazzled forth from the mouths of Bramha-Vishnu-Siva and it turned into a beautiful, magnificent woman with ten hands and all Gods furnished her with their special weapons This Goddess DURGA also Lord Siva's consort, represents two forms of female energy - one mild and protective and the other, fierce and destructive. She is also described as " KALI ", as a symbol of SHAKTHI. As per orthodox Hindu conceptions, the personality of one diety cannot be entirely separated from that of another. As such, all three principal Goddesses Durga-Lakshmi -Saraswathi are worshipped, each for three days of the Navarathri, called Durgashtami, Mahanavami and Vijayadasami.

Officially the Church of England accepts the full and final authority of Holy Scripture as the basis for all that it believes. Some of these beliefs were summarised in the historic creeds, and at the time of the Reformation the Church adopted the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion as giving a concise and systematic statement of the teaching of Scripture.
The legal definition of the Doctrine of the Church of England can be found in the Church of England (Worship and Doctrine) Measure 1974 which accords with what is also stated in Canon A5.
These state clearly that the doctrine of the Church of England is particularly to be found in the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion, the Book of Common Prayer and the Ordinal.
The Burning of Washington is the name given to the burning of Washington, D.C., by British forces in 1814, during the War of 1812. Strict discipline and the British commander's orders to burn only public buildings are credited with preserving most residences, and as a result the facilities of the U.S. government, including the White House, were largely destroyed. The attack was in retaliation for the U.S. invasion of York, Upper Canada (now Toronto, Ontario, Canada), at the Battle of York in 1813, in which U.S. forces looted and burned the city, including the Parliament Buildings of Upper Canada.
John F. Kennedy entered the White House hoping to make America and the world a better and safer place in which to live. Through diplomacy, he wanted to achieve a settlement of the East-West tensions and to bring about a peaceful resolution to such issues as the Israeli-Arab conflict. Although his provision of defensive HAWK anti-aircraft missiles, in response to Russian, French and British arms sales to the Arabs, made him the first President to supply arms to Israel, Kennedy feared both exacerbation of the arms race and the proliferation of nuclear weapons. While he remained an honest and loyal friend to Israel, he also attempted to further America's relationship with the Arab states and to encourage a settlement of the Arab refugee issue. Kennedy was an independent thinker who learned how to rely upon his own best judgment and intelligence rather than upon his father or officials like Dean Rusk or Allen Dulles. Kennedy ultimately agreed to regular consultations between Israeli and American military personnel, but he would not agree to a dual alliance nor would he allow America to become Israel's main source of military equipment. The author contends that it was this precarious and uncertain diplomatic and military situation that encouraged Israel to develop its own defense industries and to investigate the possibilities of producing its own nuclear weapons systems.

In March 1963, Oswald used his alias "A. Hidell" (which he would later use for the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, and for which he was carrying an I.D. card when arrested after the Kennedy murder) to purchase the rifle later linked to the November 22, 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy. The surplus Italian military rifle was purchased from Klein's Sporting Goods in Chicago, with a coupon taken from an ad in the February issue of American Rifleman. FBI and Treasury Department experts later matched the handwriting on the coupon and the envelope to Oswald. The rifle was purchased under "A. Hidell" but sent to a Dallas post office box rented by Oswald under his own name.
The Mafia (also known as Cosa Nostra) is a Sicilian criminal secret society which first developed in the mid-19th century in Sicily. An offshoot emerged on the East Coast of the United States and in Australia during the late 19th century following waves of Sicilian and Southern Italian emigration (see also Italian diaspora). In North America, the Mafia often refers to Italian organized crime in general, rather than just traditional Sicilian organized crime. According to historian Paolo Pezzino: "The Mafia is a kind of organized crime being active not only in several illegal fields, but also tending to exercise sovereignty functions – normally belonging to public authorities – over a specific territory..."
The Sicilian Cosa Nostra is a loose confederation of about one hundred Mafia groups, also called cosche or families, each of which claims sovereignty over a territory, usually a town or village or a neighborhood of a larger city, though without ever fully conquering and legitimizing its monopoly of violence. For many years, the power apparatuses of the single families were the sole ruling bodies within the two associations, and they have remained the real centers of power even after superordinate bodies were created in the Cosa Nostra beginning in the late 1950s (the Sicilian Mafia Commission).
The Sicilians also have a law of silence, called omertà; it forbids the common man, woman or child to cooperate at all with the police or the government, upon pain of death.http://www.crimelibrary.com/gangsters_outlaws/family_epics/marcello/2.html

The Stylet or stiletto is the smallest of daggers, easily concealed, lightest in weight, with a strong triangular sectional blade. The dimensions of the stilettos made these daggers a favorite among assassins. The dagger was easy to conceal, enabling assassins to follow their would be victims at close rage without being spotted.
Stiletto spells sex. Nothing else creates an erotically taut, arched foot or an overall come-hither silhouette quite like the stiletto heel. This exquisite book uncovers the compelling lure of the needle heel.
A highly charged symbol, the stiletto suggests a multitude of contradictions - it can be elegant, vulgar, submissive, aggressive, subversive, conventional. The stiletto is phallic but supremely female, it makes the wearer at once vulnerable and in control. Six decades have seen the stiletto in vogue around the world with an ever-changing, kaleidoscopic clientele of classic ladies, Hollywood stars, fetishists, punks, princesses, power- dressers, cross-dressers, A-list celebrities, and the girl next door. For the first time, Stiletto attempts to uncover the compelling lure of the needle heel.
Bactrian Camels have two humps composed of fat, serving as storage for energy. They can go without water for months at a time, but when available they can drink up to 57 litres at once. Bactrian Camels live in dry steppe and semi-desert areas along rivers. They feed on leaves, grasses and shrubs. Their main predators are tigers and humans. Bactrian Camels live 40 years in captivity.
Common in domestication
Dromedary Camels were domesticated 4000 B.C. for travel, meat, milk and running, and became extinct in the wild around 2000 years ago. They live 40 years. Dromedaries have no known predators. They feed on leaves, grasses and shrubs in deserts and steppes. Being thirsty, dromedaries can drink up to 100 litres of water in 10 minutes, what would be lethal to any other animal.
